Are dissertation / thesis writing services legal in The United Arab Emirates?
Yes, dissertation writing services are completely legal in Dubai and the wider UAE. There are currently no laws in this region to prevent the sales or purchasing of dissertations. However, it should be noted that specific academic institutions will have codes of academic conduct, or honesty codes, which can make it an academic offence for a student to hand in a dissertation which they did not write.
When using dissertation writing services in the UAE, students must ensure that any work purchased is entirely re-written in their own words, and that the purchased dissertation is only used as a guide to writing their own unique piece of work.
Students also need to take care to avoid the use of “AI” software to write their dissertations as universities have software that is capable of detecting this. AI content also fails to meet the requirements of most tertiary education providers in terms of discussing unique topics, using up-to-date or the most relevant source material, and also in the overall writing style which will inevitably differ from the student’s own distinct style.
Although the term “dissertation” is used in The United Arab Emirates, these kind of final papers are more commonly called Theses (singular: thesis) or Research Projects
